Wsm Advert Break then Arty Wetlook from The Lake District
first up is a classic spoof at those Credit Card adverts that have tried every marketing gimmick to get you to sign up.
We see Professor Treacle with his partner Lorraine.
Rachel is the waitress.
Filmed on location in Ormskirk, Lancashire.
Some great northern English accents in this amusing slapstick sketch that runs 1 min 32 secs.
Second, Wsm turns all arty!
Filmed at the Lake (District) and incorporating the most famous Lake Poet William Wordsworth, Bach added his masterly music to set the scene.
Wordsworth's best loved poem "I wandered Lonely as a Cloud" is far better known as "The Daffodils".
So we dressed our two girls Debbie and Lorraine just in white and yellow dresses to symbolize the daffodils! (I told you this was arty!)
They dance together on a hillock between Ambleside and Grasmere.
Then it is into the Lake (Lake Coniston to be precise).
The weather was not kind on 2nd September 1989 and the lake was extremely cold!
Lorraine also had a very sore ankle.
But the girls bravely defied the cold to bring you this wet classic.
See our brief Trailer of the two girls in Lake Coniston.
Mike Ellison voices the Poet's commentary…….but our real star was Shaun Kendall our cameraman and video editor.
I hope you notice the music played in the Vintage Films nos 1-8 which show Shaun's deft yet knowledgeable touch, so missing from modern productions.
Running 5 mins 56 secs this is as cultured as Wsm ever Became!
